Southend District Council and Port of London Authority By-Laws and  Codes of Conduct must be followed.

You will recieve this in your membership pack.

 

1)              Parking of cars and all trailers on the ramp is not permitted at any time.

 

2)              Trailers can be parked to the right of ramp or on the shingle when full.

 

3)              The ramp is to be kept clear at all times.

 

4)              All users of the ramp must sound their horn twice when approaching the top.

 

5)              No fuel to be stored on the beach.

 

6)              Craft must disembark the beach area prior to refuelling.

 

7)              No vehicles to be taken on to the beach apart from the launching and recovery of craft.

 

8)              Craft must stay within the yellow buoyed area when going out or returning.

 

9)              The marker buoys must not be used as a slalom course.

 

10)          Keep to a minimum of 200 metres away from the pier.

 

11)          Speed limit maximum is 8 nautical mph (10mph) and within 100 meters of low tied mark.

 

12)          Craft engines must not be run on the ramp unless carrying out pre/post launch checks.

 

13)          An adult must accompany children under the age of 16 when on the water at all times.

 

14)          Be courteous to SDC officials/foreshore/committee members and marshals.

 

15)          Threatening behaviour and abusive language will not be tolerated.

 

16)          Be aware and courteous to other beach users both on he beach and in the water.

 

17)          Be able to produce insurance if requested to a member of the committee or other relevant authority so asks.

 

18)          Failure to produce the relevant documentation will result in a non-launch.

 

19)          All craft must be data-tag registered which will be checked by the club, and passed on to the local authorities.

 

20)          This registration must be clearly displayed on both sides of the bow above the gun whale.

 

21)          I undertake to display the club sticker at all times (preferably above the waterline).

 

22)          Do not bring the club into disrepute by your own actions or by that of your guests.

 

23)          All SWC members and their guests must abide by the rules or you will be asked to leave and relevant authorities will be informed.

 

24)          A yellow and red card system will operate to ban persistent offenders. (Details on request)

 

25)          Please do not chase or frighten any of the local wildlife on the banks or any basking areas.
